Parking Citation Appeals

Fight For Your Right to Park

One of the responsibilities of the Student Court is to help assist students with their parking citations. The Student Court has the authority to reduce or waive the fees associated with their parking citations under certain circumstances. The Chief Justice, along with the Associate Justices, will review each case and determine if the case has grounds for appeal.

Non-valid Reasons for Appeal
I did not know the parking rules Someone else was driving my car
I never received the ticket I do not have money to pay the fine
I was only parked there for a few minutes Other cars around me did not receive tickets
My designated lot was full It was my first ticket, I should have gotten a warning
I was late for class
Valid Reasons for Appeal (Attach Supporting Evidence)
Accuracy of the extenuating factors and information presented
Consideration of unusual circumstances

If your situation does not fall under one of the categories listed above and if you feel that a parking citation was issued in error or that there were extenuating circumstances associated with the citation, please feel free to appeal it with the Student Court.

The Student Court will send you an email within 3 to 5 business days of your appeal submission. If you do not hear from the Student Court, please stop by the SGA Office to follow up with a Student Court Associate Justice.

Tickets that are appealed 10 days after their date of issue will not considered.
